After getting pummeled by Carwin in the first round, Lesnar surprised many by making Carwin tap out in the second round of their fight. It was Lesnar’s first fight after a lengthy absence because of illness.

Velasquez is 8-0 and is coming off of a victory over Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira at UFC 110.

Respect in the Cage: World War 3 is the first of three scheduled MMA events in Hollywood. It will take place at the Palladium on Saturday, July 24, 2010. Respect in the Cage: World War 3 will feature international fighters representing their various countries. Just a couple of years ago, Chuck Liddell was one of the most feared fighters in the light heavy weight decision. He was a fighter that beat the shit of anyone they put in front of him. He beat the best of the best. As they say, every dog has his day, and for the Ice Man his day has past. He brought us many action fights that played a huge part in the success and growth of the UFC. Unfortunately, he has been getting K.O’d a bit to much, and its time for him to hang them up. I was hoping that he would be able to make a come up and KO Rich Franklin, but instead the Ice man, was put to Ice by “Ace”. I will miss Chuck!

In the CO Main Event. Mirco ” Cro Cop” defeated Patrick Barry, in what I thought was one of the gayest UFC fights I ever seen. These two clowns, were smiling at each other shaking hands, and at one point got in the center of the ring to hug each other. What the hell was that? this is a fight!! and I want to see some blows being thrown, not kisses. Patrick Barry Knocked Mirko down twice in the first round, but failed to attack and finish him off. The end result was a rear naked choke by Mirko, which was very surprising since that is not ” Cro Cop’s” style.
