Fernando “El Feroz” Vargas Returns To Ring After Three Year Layoff
by Rick Pineda: Fernando “El Feroz” Vargas former world junior middleweight champion has been honored in Las Vegas, Nevada as the 50th person to be enshrined on the World Famous Las Vegas Walk of Fame and the first Boxer to get the 200 lbs granite star which was set in the sidewalk in front of the New York, New York hotel and casino this morning. Vargas also announced his comeback fight after a three year layoff.
Vargas and new trainer Floyd “Joy” Mayweather have been preparing for his comeback for the last six months. He will face off with Henry Buchanan on April 16, at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas. Local and state politicians gave him a proclamation proclaiming Fernando Vargas day in Sin City.Vargas was so overwhelmed with emotion that his eyes welled up with tears at the unveiling. Referee Joe Cortez, and Floyd “Joy” Mayweather were present along with Billboard Top Ten Latin Singer Jenni Rivera to congratulate Fernando after receiving his Star along with all the dignitaries involving the presentation.
The Main Event will feature none other than Vitor “the Phenom” Belfort (MMA record 19-8) competing against the current Middleweight Champion, Anderson “the Spider” Silva (MMA record 27-4).
